Awana
Clubs meet on Wednesday evenings
6:30 -
8:15 p.m.
in the Church Gymnasium
(during the regular school year)
.
The name "Awana" stands for:
Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed
Click
here for some fun pictures!
This comes from 2 Timothy 2:15 which says:
“Study to show
thyself approved unto God, a workman that
needeth not to
be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
Awana Clubs provide lots of creative and fun activities for children
with a focus on Scripture memorization. The Clubs make
memorization fun and gear each level to the varied needs and ranges of
each age group.
Awana Clubs also seek to encourage children in their understanding of
the verses that they learn so they clearly understand the gospel of Christ
and
His love for us.
Today, there are over 13,000 churches worldwide using the
Awana program to reach boys and girls with the good news of Jesus.
This includes clubs in all 50 states and in
over 110 countries..
All children from first grade through sixth grade are
welcome to become apart
of the growing adventure of Awana.
Membership at Open Door is not required.
